Article Marketing – Making Money Writing Articles

Looking to start a part-time or even full time business, but have limited amount of money? Not a problem. You can make money a few ways even without a web site. If you

know information or can do some research and write about it, this is a great opportunity for you. I will give you some ways to make money as a freelance writer.

Writing for yourself part-time is a great opportunity. I do it in my spare time just to earn a little more cash. There are a few ways to make some extra cash such as, Bidding

on job postings for freelance writing jobs (can earn between $5 - $50 an article!), Submit your article to places that you earn points or

cash to submit articles and some times gifts, or you can write articles and signup for an affiliate program and earn money every time someone buys the product your

promoting. Lets get started.

1. Post articles to earn points / money. Web sites such as http://www.informationonthis.com give you points and money for every article you post, most of the web sites

depend on how much money they make through advertising, so if you help promote your articles on these sites the more your points will be worth in the long run. I know

informationonthis.com also gives you points for refering other writers and people to signup for their free service. This is also a great place to find information on a lot of

subjects.

2. Freelance writing and bidding for jobs. Search the internet for "freelance jobs," most web sites have a category just for copywriters and writers. Web sites are in need of

fresh content to keep their site a live and in the great eyes of the search engines that crawl their web sites daily. You can earn (depending on your bid and agreement)

between $5 - $50 an article and most of the listings are for multiple articles or even just message board posts. The most popular freelance job site out there is elance.com,

but it does cost money to be able to bid on projects, so I would go to other web sites that offer freelance jobs that costs nothing and see if this is something you really want

to do.

3. Signup for an affiliate program and write an article on the subject and promote the article through either step 1 or through other free article directories. Find a product that

you want to write about signup for the affiliate link and write at least a 500 word article on the subject. Then submit the article to as many "free article" directories where

other web sites can use your article to post on their web sites. By doing this it promotes your article for free and gives them free content, but why you might ask? Because

you can create a small resource box at the end of your article like the one at the end of this article with your affiliate link and every time someone clicks that link and signs

up for the product / service you make money and this can be an ongoing income. I have done this and it sometimes takes about 12 - 15 articles until you start to notice a

nice income through this means.

This is the top 3 ways a freelance writer can make some extra money just doing part time work with no hassle. It usually takes me about 15 - 30 minutes to write an article

on a subject that I know about, but I know that it will help my income for years to come.

Residual Income Stream - Lesson 2

This is lesson 2 of the Residual Income Stream Series. Hopefully you already signed up for Hubpages. If not, please go now. You're never going to make any money by reading. So many people spend years, that's right, years, searching online, reading, researching and have all this great information but never do anything with it. The steps that I am showing you are small so that no one gets overwhelmed. If you can't do any of the small stuff, then seriously, making residual income online is just not for you.

So the reason why I asked you to go sign up for a hubpage account is because is it's a great way to create a page that will score well in the search engines assuming that you picked a relatively non-competitive topic to write about. Think of it as a blog but the difference is you have the power and authority of Hubpages on your side. Google loves hubpages, I don't know why, no point in arguing. So because of this, we can use this fact to our advantage. The cool part is that on Hubpages, they let you put Adsense on there. This is how you will make your money, which is also free.

Adsense is a program ran by Google to put ads on publishers' sites like your blogs. When people come to your site and click on the ads, you make some money off of it. The amount of money you make per click will depend on your topic, how well your site is optimized, and how to visitor found your site. Typically, you would have to start a blog like this one and start building content and getting backlinks in order to rank in the SERP's (search engine results page). This is important because search engines is how your site will be found. If you don't have people coming to your site, then you won't make any residual income.

I'll take you through building your own blog for free as well since that will be your main source of income, most likely. You may find that your hubpages might make you more money. So if by now you still haven't signed up for Hubpages, please do so. After you finish, you will be one step closer than most people to building residual income.

After that, you want to sign up for a blogger account. This will serve as your main blog when you can use your hubpages to link to in order to give it more power in the search engine results. You'll see how this all plays out in some future posts. For now, just do those two things.

Once that is done, you'll be able to follow me better as I take you through how this whole internet game works. Yes, it's all a game. The people who know how to play the game are the ones that dominate the markets and make all the money. The ones who don't know the game, no matter how good of a writer they are, no matter how good of a person they are, or no matter how hard they work, will never beat the people who know how the game works.

After the next few posts, you will know how the game works and will be another big step closer to building a residual income stream.

Residual Income Stream - Lesson 1

I decided to write about how to actually get started building a residual income stream while at the same time still write about the different scams you need to look out for and avoid.

One of the best ways to build residual income is by starting a website as I have stated in an earlier post. So in this series of posts, I would like to take you step by step through making your first residual income profit.

That being said, one of the biggest challenges of making money with a website is getting enough traffic to your site. You can have the best looking, most well written, valuable website but if no one knows about it, you won't make any money. You wouldn't believe how many people don't understand this and think they can just toss up a site and start creating residual income. It just doesn't happen that way.

Getting your site to be ranked well on search engines is the most important thing you can do. People use search engines to look for information. This is how most sites are found. Typically, it will take you months or even years to be ranked well enough to even have a chance to make any decent amount of money depending on your site's topic.

So how do you speed up the process? I'm going to show you a way that will have a pretty high chance of your page getting onto the 1st page on Google's search engine (Google is the only search engine that really matters seeing that they own 60-70% of the market). The best part about this strategy is that it's free!

I'll write about some background stuff for you to understand just how ranking well in search engines work in later posts so you know how the game is played. This is one of those things where knowing is half the battle. (Yo Joe!) For now though, I'm just going to tell you what you can do right away so you can get started making residual income and I'll fill in the details later.

Right now, what I'd like you to do is go to a site called Hubpages. If you don't know what this is, don't worry about it, I'll explain shortly. Once you go to the site, click on the sign up button and create an account. Don't worry, it's all free.

The reason I'm asking you to do this is because Hubpages is an extremely strong site that you can take advantage of to get your page to the top of the search engines fairly quickly. You'll understand more why this is in later posts.

Hubpages basically give you the ability to use the strength that they have with Google to create a page on their site that will be ranked faster and higher than any site you can put up on your own AND get paid for it. Hubpages is basically a place where people go to and write a page (or hub) about any topic they want.

Say you like dogs. You want to create a site about dogs and make money off of it. Well, it's going to be a while before you are even close to the top few pages on Google. With Hubpages however, you can leverage their popularity by posting a page about dogs on their website. What this does is not only give you traffic from the many hubpages users but also the traffic from search engines since Hubpages seem to rank really quickly.

So how do you make residual income? Simple. Hubpages allows you to put Adsense on the pages that you create. Not only do they help you score high in the search engines, they also let you share in the profits your page brings. Listen, most sites out there that offer this free service ONLY provide you with an ability to put a link to your website. Although this is important, Hubpages give you that ability while also letting you make money at the same time.

Most other sites use the stuff you write to make money all for themselves in exchange for giving letting you put a link on their site which will help your site move up in the search engines.

I'll be explaining more about how all this process works later. For now, I'd like you to do 2 things.

1. Sign up for a free account with Hubpages.
2. Sign up for a free account with Blogger

You will be using the hubpages to pull your blogger page up in the rankings, meanwhile, making money on your hubpages. Blogger will be your main site which you will later make most of your residual income stream from. More on this later.

In the next section, I'll go more into details on what you need to do. For now, make sure you sign up for those two sites.

How to Make Money Writing Articles

There are lots of ways you can make money writing an article – but some ways are more tried and true than others.

Ghostwriting - Webmasters need to constantly add new content to their websites in order to get high ranking through the search engines (ex - google or yahoo). This means that many of them are constantly looking for article writers to write an article for them.

PayPerPost – Also called PPP, is a website which helps content creators, such as bloggers and article writers, to find advertisers willing to sponsor specific content.

Once you have written a blog or article, PPP reviews the post against set requirements such as topic and article length and their terms of service before paying you for your work.

Ebooks – Compiling your articles into an ebook (electronic book) is another great way to make money writing articles. You could compile a list of articles from industry experts, with their permission, or you could write them yourself or even hire someone to write them for you.

Elance – As a freelance article writer, you could offer your services on this website forum, a marketplace for people from all over the world to participate in buying and selling products and services.

There are hundreds of forums and websites out there for you to utilize – as well as of course, actual magazine publications whom are constantly searching for new and interesting content.

One of the best things you can do to make money writing an article is to create a freelance writer sales page or profile. You should include examples of your writing, a rough price guide and contact information.

If you find yourself at a loss for work, one of the most proactive things you can do is to email Webmasters who operate a site within your areas of expertise and send them a sample of your writing. This is a great way to get ghostwriting or freelance work.

PTR Programs - So Many Short Terms, what do they mean?

So many short terms, so many abbreviations. It could be a little overwhelming at first. On this page you will find a summary of the most frequently used abbreviations, their meanings, and some additional background information.

GPT - ‘Get Paid To’
GPT means Get Paid To, and it is the most commonly used abbreviation. People often speak of the GPT industry, or the GPT community. In general a GPT Program can be any type of program that offers their members cash rewards for performing simple online tasks, such as visiting websites, or by completing online offers. Most of the several different GPT programs basically have their own abbreviations. A good example of a GPT program is a PTR or a PTC Program.

PTR - ‘Paid To Read’
PTR is the term used for the programs that pay their members to receive their emails. Other terms are GPTR - ‘Get Paid To Read’ or GPTRE - ‘Get Paid To Read Email’. Some would say Get Paid To Visit Websites would have been a better name, because users are eventually getting paid after visiting the advertised website. However, reading the advertisement text that comes with the emails is important. It is written by an advertiser, and without advertisers there wouldn’t be any emails to read.

PTC - ‘Paid To Click’
PTC programs are very similar to PTR programs. The only difference is that they don’t send you email. In order to earn money you’ll have to log-in to the members area, and click on the banners provided there. Besides the PTC programs, many PTR programs also have a PTC feature. In your account menu you might find a PTC section, where you can get paid additional money or points, to click banners.

PTP - ‘Paid To Promote’
Paid to Promote is often an extra possibility to earn even more money from a PTR program. What it basically comes down to, is that members are getting paid to send visitors to a special promotion page. If a ptr has a PTP feature you should be able to find a personal PTP link in the PTP area. For every visitor you send using that link, you will receive credits. These credits are exchanged to cash often per 1000. Usually 1000 credits are worth something between $0.60 and $1.20. The amount of credits you accumulate per visitor depends on the origin of the traffic. A visit from China would be worth less credits then a visit from the United States or Canada.

PTSU - ‘Paid To Sign Up’
PTSU could be part of a PTR program, but there are also independent PTSU programs that pay you to complete offers. In PTR programs you can often be paid to sign up for other PTR programs. The bonus for signing up will be added in your account once you are confirmed. The PTSU programs often have a enormous diversity of offers. Some examples are: subscribing to newsletters, completing surveys, sending e-cards, ordering samples etc.

General GPT abbreviations.
NPA - New Program Alert.
NPA is a frequent term used by promoters to indicate that a certain program is new.
CPM - Cost Per 1000. The M in CPM is Latin for One-thousand. CPM means Costs Per one thousand. Usually the cost for 1000 impressions.
CPC - Cost Per Click. This refers to the cost associated with each click.
PPC - Pay Per Click.
Advertiser are paying money for visitors to their website. They are paying a certain amount of money, per click.

CTR - Click Through Rate.
The amount of clicks versus the amount of impressions, expressed as a percentage.
ROI - Return On Invested capital.
A quantitative analysis of investments, and the resulting returns.

PO - Program Owner.
A PO is a webmaster (WM) who operates one or more GPT Programs.
PP - PayPal.
This is the payment processor that is most often used in the PTR industry.

EG - Egold.
Another important payment processor often used in the GPT industry.

How to Create a Website That Will Specifcally Earn AdSense Revenue

Building a website to earn Google AdSense revenue has become a popular way to make extra money online. It is much easier to earn AdSense income than generating sales by selling products and services online. However it DOES involve works, time, and money before you start earning. Below are some steps to creating a content website for earning AdSense revenue.

Step One
Decide what kind of content you want for your website. You can write about a topic or subject related to your interest, hobbies, or experience. You could also provide educational information and advice on your website if you are expert at something.

Step Two
Use a website builder to help you create your website. One of the easiest website builders that can help you build your website is Bluevoda. Bluevoda site builder allows you to build a website with no technical knowledge at all. You don’t need to build your site from scratch. The trick is to use free professional templates provided by the site builder and then add your own text and links. You can even add graphics and pictures to make your site look nicer. After completing your website project, your next step is to register a domain name and sign up for a hosting account to publish your website on the Internet.

Step Three
You need to join the Google AdSense program. It will usually take a couple of days for the Google AdSense team to review and approve your site. If they accept your application. You can start learning how to generate AdSense code so u can insert it into your website and generate Adsense revenue. If your site is rejected by Google, don’t get upset easily. They will let you know the reasons of the rejection, and then you can fix the problems and reapply.

Step Four
You need to drive targeted Visitors/Traffic to your website in order to generate Adsense revenue. The greater your website’s traffic is, the greater your Adsense earning will be. Below are some ways that can help you drive traffic to your website in a short period of time.

1) Use Per per click (PPC) advertising. The two most popular ones are Google and Yahoo. Google and Yahoo deliver instant traffic to your website, but it is very costly to advertise with Google and Yahoo. There are other alternatives like Bidvertise.com and Clicksor.com which are cheaper to advertise with.

2) Introduce your new site to your family and friends.

3) Write several articles with a link to your website on the resource box. Then submit them to article directories. You can find many article directories by going to Google and entering the search term 'article directory'.

4) Post messages on community forums. Just post a link to your site on the signature of each message posted.
