Lesson 7 - Infobarrel

Making Money with Infobarrel
In this lesson, I want to talk about another way you can make residual income online for free. With this method, we will be making money with Infobarrel.com. If you read the post on making money with hubpages, then this should be quite easy. It's basically the same thing but instead of using Hubpages.com, you'll be using Infobarrel.

If it's the same thing, then why bother? Why not just stick with Hubpages? There are two main reasons for this.

1. Infobarrel pays 75/25 compared to Hubpages' 60/40. The reason I brought up Hubpages first is because they seem to be stronger in terms of rankability. If you want to see any money come in, the key is to get your site ranking well in the search engines.

2. You need to diversify. Just like the recommendations they have about owning stocks, you can't be putting all of your eggs in one basket. You don't want to be in the position where you're making all of this money but it's coming all from one source. What if one day something happens to that source? All of your efforts will be wiped off. That's not something you want to have to deal with.

Infobarrel Basics

Like I said before, it's pretty much the same thing with Hubpages. The format is a bit different on their site though. They have a Microsoft Word style type of format. When you sign up for an account, you'll be asked to enter your Google Adsense Publisher ID. This is how you get paid, it's the same with Hubpages. If you don't have an Adsense ID, you need to get one. You will need a website to do this so either use your Hubpages profile URL or create your own Blogger blog like the one I have here. Don't worry, you don't have to have as many posts as I have. 2-3 posts should be enough. Just pick a topic, a hobbie of yours perhaps, and write a few 150-200 word posts. Once you qualify for an Adsense account, you can put ads on any site you want.

The keyword research is exactly the same as I described in Lesson 4.

So your aim is to create pages on Infobarrel targeting profitable keywords. The more you do, the more money you will make. It's just a numbers game. Some pages you create will make you money, most of them won't. The more you make, the better your chances of getting a page up that will. The good news is that over time, all of your pages should increase in rankings due to age.

Once you sign up for an account on Infobarrel, you want to click on "create" and read the 7 guidelines that they have. Although they say the minimum amount of words is 250 words, just like with Hubpages, you want to aim for at least 400. You will also see 4 templates. Choose the first one. Then choose a title (must have your keyword in it), then start typing. You will also want to pick a category and fill out the tags box on the right.

After you finish creating a few Infobarrels, you will want to create inbound links by using Ezinearticles. Also, within your infobarrel, you are allowed 2 outgoing links. Make one of those links go to a related Hub that you created. Since both Hubpages and Infobarrel are quite strong, you can use them as backlinks. You probably don't want to do reciprocal linking though, meaning you don't want to have one hub and one infobarrel linking back and forth to each other. It's better to have one-way links.

The down side of Infobarrels is that they have their own Kontera ad links on there which, as far as I know, we don't get paid on. This will just decrease the chances of the reader clicking on your ads. So although they display your ads 75% of the time, from what I'm seeing, they're also displaying their Kontera green links 100% of the time. Hubpages has Kontera as well but you actually get paid for it. 75% but a smaller chance of people clicking on your ads is what I'm seeing. Another thing is that since they are relatively new, started at the beginning of 2008 I think, they're still messing around with a lot of different things like Google ad placements. In order to add analytics to your infobarrels, you will have to become a preapproved author (10 articles or more) If you have more than 10 and still don't have it, just email them.

Now that you know about two different sources of income, let me give you the overall game plan here. I probably should have given you the big picture in the beginning but here it is now.

The Big Picture

As I mentioned earlier, diversification is key. The last thing you want is to put all of your eggs in one basket. That being said though, once you find something that works well, you want to put the majority of your time into it.

Stocks is the same way. Although people recommend to diversify, the best in the business focus their money on only a handful of investments. The reason is because if you spread yourself out too thin, you won't be able to realize the full potential of any one investment.

So here are the "investments" you want to focus on.

1. Your own niche site
2. Hubpages
3. Infobarrel

Your Own Site

There are two ways to go about this. You can either get a free site like a Blogger blog such as this site you're reading, or you can buy your own domain name and hosting service.

The advantage of Blogger blogs is that it's free. The disadvantage is that it's not yours. Who knows, down the line, Google can decide to cancel Blogger. It happens, remember Geocites from Yahoo?

The advantage of having your own website is that it's yours. You can actually sell it down the line if you want. You have control of its fate. The disadvantage is that it's not free. However, it's pretty inexpensive. Using the hosting service that you see on the right of this page, Hostgator, and buying a domain name from Godaddy.com using a promo code that you can find online, having a website up and running will cost you under $10 a month for hosting, and about $8 a year for each domain.

If you get hosting and pay 3 years up front, it'll run you $7.95 a month. I chose to pay on a month by month basis and it costs me about $10 a month. Each domain you buy will cost you about $8 but hosting will only cost you $10 no matter how many domains you host on it. It's unlimited domain hosting.

If you can't afford $10 a month or if you're a bit hesitant about whether or not you'll make your money back, then you can test your keyword rankability by creating a hubpage or inforbarrel on that keyword. If you can rank in the top 3 pages for that keyword within the first few weeks with just a few links pointing to it, then you'll have a good chance of getting your paid site to rank with it.

This is one of the strategies I use. Since I'm creating a bunch of hubpages and infobarrels, I can see what keywords are ranking well and are bringing in money. Then I go and get a domain name for it and start building my site. The great part is since my hubpage or infobarrel is already ranking well, I can add a link to my paid site on them to help me in the rankings.

The ideal situation is to dominate the top 3 positions: 1 site, 1 hubpage, 1 infobarrel. That's the ideal, but more than likely you will have those 2 or 3 somewhere in the first or second page. Or you can get the #1 spot, make a bunch of money, then buy out whoever is in #2 and #3. That's what real businesses do. Just look at Google.

In terms of site building, I'll write about that in another post. It's almost the same thing as doing hubpages but it requires more work. However, since you get 100% of the ad revenue and the ability to sell your site down the line if you choose to, it's well worth it.

Hubpages / Infobarrel

If you can't afford the $10 a month to own your own website, then start building a ton of hubpages and infobarrels to start making some money. How many you build will depend on how much you want to make. If you want to make some serious money, then you have to create a ton of these pages. I'm talking several hundred of them.

If you don't have a job currently, just spend your time creating hubpages and infobarrels. If you have a job, do it in your spare time. Go at your own pace.

So what is the potential? For the first few weeks, you will most likely not see very much at all. Perhaps a few dollars here and there. Even with these site's authority, it will still take some time for your page to rank but it depends on the keyword. I've gotten my hubs ranked on the 1st page after a week. After a month or so, you'll start to see money coming in consistently every day. Now if you go all out and create hundreds of hubpages and infobarrels then you could very well make several hundred dollars within your first month or two. As time goes by, and your rankings increase, your income will as well.

The true potential is hard to say because it will be in direct proportion to how hard you work. You can make thousands a month with this method, however, like I said throughout this post, you will want to diversify. Building your own websites is the best way to go. So once you start making some money, use that money to buy your own website.

Another thing you can do with the money you earn is use it to hire other people to write articles for you. The best in this business outsource all of this stuff. You can only write so many articles a day, but when you outsource everything, you'll be making more money with less time. That's what business is all about. Earning you more money while freeing up your time.

So start building hubpages and infobarrels. Do 100 each. Yes, that's a lot of work but who ever said making money online was easy? Oh right, those internet marketing scams. If you want your life to change, you must start putting in the work. If you want money fast, then work fast. If you're really working hard and don't screw around, you can easily do 10 hubs or infobarrels in a day. Even if you only have 2-3 hours a day, you can still crank out 5 of them which would be 150 a month. In the beginning it may take you a while to write just one since you're still getting used to the format, but once you do around 10, you'll be flying through these.

What I recommend you do is spend part of your time each day looking for keywords. It sucks to have to run out of keywords while you're on a roll cranking these infobarrels and hubpages out. I have way more than I can handle but I still spend at least 30 minutes a day finding keywords. I may never use many of them but it's also good to have a lot of choices to choose from because trust me, there will be times when you look at the words you have and just don't want to write about any of them. By having a huge list you'll have more to choose from and that will allow you to keep your momentum going.

Additional Help

If all of this seems confusing to you or you're just not sure about something, I HIGHLY recommend signing up with the Keyword Academy. You can read my Keywords Academy Review or just go straight to their page and sign up for $1. You'll learn everything you need to know.

Aside from being trained by some of the best in this business, just having access to the forums will be a HUGE help for you. Any questions you have will be answered. You will have the support of hundreds of like minded individuals from beginners to the highly advanced. Having people support you with this journey will greatly increase your chances of being successful. It's the best online community I have ever been involved with. It can be life changing.

It's very hard to do this all on your own. You will inevitably be met with LOTS of setbacks and obstacles. By having people who have similar goals for you to turn to when you need some support or a motivation booster, it can mean the difference between your life being the same a year from now and living the life of your dreams. At the very least, try to get a committed friend to do this with you.

Lesson 6 - Creating Content

The Secrets to Writing Articles
This is Lesson 6 of how to build residual income. If you haven't already, look on the left side bar to find and read all of the previous lessons. In the last lesson, making money with hubpages, I talked about how you can start making money without having to spend any money. You want to use hubpages because of the powerful it has with ranking in Google's search engine. If you have been following along with the lessons, by now you should have signed up with a hubpages account, done some keyword research, and play around with hubpages a bit and perhaps created a hub.

If you have done that, then congratulations. When it comes down to being successful, it's all about taking action. As they say, talk is cheap and this world if full of talkers. Now that you have created a hub (name for a page on hubpages), or at least signed up for an account, the next challenge you will have is writing articles on topics you found to be profitable. If you missed the part about how to research for profitable keywords, read Lesson 4.

When it comes to making money with a website, one of the things you will have to learn how to get good at if you don't want to spend any money outsourcing, is writing articles. This may seem daunting to some of you but don't worry, it's not like writing for school or anything. I'll be showing you how to write a basic article on a topic you know nothing about. Let's get started.

1. Find the profitable keyword. (Lesson 4)

Some places you can look for keywords would be advertisements in newspapers, Amazon, Ebay pulse section, and even TV commercials. You're looking for products or topics to enter into the Google keyword tool to find words that give you at least 3,000 global searches as well as at least $1 in CPC. Once you find a keyword, you want to search for it on Google. What you want to look for is a keyword that will bring you less than 1,000,0000 search results (upper right hand), the lower the better. If you can find one under 100,000, then you most likely have a winner. This is just a basic technique. If you are having a hard time finding profitable keywords then I suggest you sign up with the Keyword Academy and learn all you need to know for $1.

2. Research topic/product.

The Secret to Writing Articles

This part is quite simple if you know what you are doing. The best way to do this is to go to Ezinearticles. Once you are there, search for your keyword. You should see a bunch of articles that other people have written on the same subject. This is serve as your resources for research.

What you want to do from here is quickly go through 3-5 articles and find a main point and 2-3 supporting points. You don't want to be reading the entire article. Just find one point about the topic and move onto the next article. While you're doing this, you want to write down some notes. Here is the basic format you want to use for you article.

Basic Format of Articles

Introduction (introduce main point)
Paragraph 1 (use supporting point #1 to back up your main point)
Paragraph 2 (use supporting point #2 to back up your main point)
Paragraph 3 (use supporting point #3 to back up your main point)
Conclusion (summarize the main point and supporting points)

Let me give you a quick example. Say my topic is desktop fans. My main point might be something like "there are many benefits of owning a fan". My supporting points would be something like: a) They help cool you down, b) They are cheaper than air conditioners, c) They are portable.

For each of those supporting points, I would write a little bit about it.

If you use this format of researching and writing, you shouldn't have a problem writing 400 words about topics you know nothing about. If you still are having a problem with writing 400 word articles, then you may want to check out this program called 7 Minute Articles. It contains videos that will take you through the entire process of writing articles about any topic as well as being able to turn your one article into 8 articles.

Writing 400 word articles shouldn't take you more than 20 minutes or so including research. If it is, then you may want to check that program out. It'll help you cut your writing time down dramatically. If you are already writing articles in under 15 minutes with research, then you probably don't need it unless if you want to learn how to turn 1 article into 8 articles. This will be highly useful once you start your link building to increase your rankings.

It's called 7 minutes articles because the author claims he can help you write articles in 7 minutes, including research. Well, the research and writing format he teaches is awesome, but to actually write 400 words in under 5 minutes (2 minutes for research), he uses a speech recognition software. I type at about 50 words a minute and can bust out an article in about 12 minutes with research. I used to spend 20-30 minutes on research, but using the technique I learned from that program, I brought it down to just a few minutes.

Why 400 Words

The reason you want to write 400 words, by the way, is that this is seen as the ideal number of words to write since you will have enough content to be found by long-tailed keywords, keywords related to your topic that people may search for in the search engines. For hubpages however, you want to shoot for around 800. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's preferred. Many of mine are over that but I have plenty that are between 500-800 words. You definitely want to do at least 400 though.

What Next?

Once you create your hubpage and add a couple of pictures and a video if you can find one related to your topic, you will be done with step 1 of making money with hubpages.

Step 2 is to market them by getting backlinks. You will be doing this by writing 400 word articles and submitting them to Ezinearticles, the same site you used to research for your topic. You don't have to write 400 words, you can write 250 if you want as well. Just look at a few articles on Ezinearticles.com and you'll see how people put backlinks into the author box. Ezinearticles is also a very strong site that is liked by Google. Combining hubpages and Ezinearticles is a killer strategy.

The problem is having to write several articles about the same topic can sometimes be very difficult especially if you have a boring topic. This is why knowing how to turn 1 article into 8 is such a time saver.

The Reality

If after reading this lesson about how to write articles, you feel like this is going to be a lot of work, then here's what I have to say. Yes, it is a lot of work, at first. When you are starting out, it may take you an hour just to create your first hub. My first 5 hubs all took over an hour. However, once you get used to the formatting of creating hubs, the research process, the writing process, you will be busting them out pretty quickly. The best part is that once you start making money, you can pay someone else to do it for you.

This is what the top internet marketers do to earn residual income online. They don't have time to be sitting at their computer writing dozens of hubs and articles. They just pay other people to do it for them. If you already have some money to use, then at first, you still want to do some of this stuff on your own so you know the process. Then you can find people to write for you.

Summary of This Lesson

To to recap, sign up for hubpages, do keyword research to find your profitable words (Lesson 4), research your topic, create your hubpage (400-800 words), and finally build backlinks through things like writing articles for Ezinearticles.com and Goarticles.com. Shoot for 100 hubs. Yes, that sounds like a lot but people have done that within a month. However, pace yourself. If it takes you 6 months, then it takes you 6 months. If you are serious about making money online without spending any or much money, then this is the path to take.

If you have any questions on this process, feel free to leave a comment down below. If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed, don't worry about it, take it one step at a time. The more you do this, the better you'll get at it. Once you start seeing some money come in, your motivation, confidence, and belief will increase. The important thing is to not give up. Anything new will be hard, just like riding a bike or learning to drive. Once you do it a few times, it'll become simple. Keep at it and you'll make it.

Lesson 5 - More on Hubpages

Making Money With Hubpages
In Lesson 4 of the Residual Income Stream series, I talked about how to make money with hubpages. Hopefully, you started building some hubs. If you haven't yet, then there must be a few things stopping you.

1. You don't believe using Hubpages can make you any money.

2. You don't know how to do it and need step by step instructions.

3. You signed up, wrote some hubs, but still don't see any money coming in.

4. You have no idea what I'm talking about.

If you fall in the 4th category, just go back and read Lesson 4. To understand a bit more about creating residual income in general, start at Lesson 1. The links are on the left.

First Category

It may be hard to believe that you can actually make money on the internet without spending any of your own money when you see all of these sites charging $47 or $147 or $931 and so on, but it's true. I won't be showing you "proof" like all of those other people do since you'd probably think I photoshopped it anyway. So why should you believe me? Because I'm not charging you any money for this information. In other words, besides some time, what have you got to lose anyway.

The premise of this site from the beginning was to help you make $1 a day. The point of that, again, is once you can make $1 a day, your mind will open up to the possibility that $2 a day is possible. Once you reach that, $5, then $10 a day will be possible and so on. Many people fail at making money online before they even start simply because in the back of their mind, they don't think that it's possible for them. Read that again. I'm sure you believe that people are making money online, but do you believe that YOU can? If you don't, you can be given the best system and still not make much. Belief that this works must come first. Believe it, and you'll start to see it.

Second Category

If you know that making money with Hubpages is possible but haven't started because you need step by step instructions, then here it is again.

1. Sign up for a hubpages account. Choose any username you want. Preferably without spaces.

2. Do some keyword research to find profitable keywords with low competition. (see Lesson 4)

3. Once you find the keyword, do some quick research about the topic if you don't know anything about the topic.

4. Create your hub with the right keyword and related keyword placements. Here's a hub I created to show you how to correctly set up a hub (http://hubpages.com/hub/how-to-correctly-setup-a-hub).

5. Build a couple of links to your hub using article directories or link exchanges.

6. Find your next keyword and repeat steps 2 - 6.

These are the basic steps to this method. The cool thing about using Hubpages is that because they have a lot of authority with Google, you will often find that your sites will rank fairly quickly... and that is the whole point of using Hubpages in the first place.

Important: When it comes to making money with Hubpages, the law of averages will come into play. The more hubs you create, the more money you will make overall. You will find that out of 100 hubs, you may have a 2-5 of them make 80% or more of your income. Many of them won't make you anything.

Read that again and take a moment to let it sink in. Understanding this will put you ahead of 99% of all of the people who try to make money online. It's a numbers game. The ones who make a ton of money are the ones who have a bunch of sites. That's not always the case but you will want to increase your chances of being successful by planting lots of seeds. The good news is that once you make a load of sites, you'll start to get better and better at creating successful ones. Even the best internet marketers create sites that fail everyday. What makes them successful while others fail though, is that they understand the game. They understand that when you put out a ton of sites, you'll eventually have one that will hit.

Learning exactly what to do in order to save you the trouble of trial and error is what internet marketers try to sell you on. Let's face it, if you build 100 sites but you do it all wrong, you'll fail even if you build 10,000 sites. Everything you need to know can be found somewhere on the internet. But of course, that's the problem. It can take years to go through and test different approaches to see what works and what doesn't. This is why people are willing to pay so much to learn the "secrets".

Third Category

Pretty much what I just explained. Either you haven't done enough or you are doing the wrong things, whether it's choosing the wrong keywords, optimizing your hub wrong, or building links wrong. The basic of SEO is quite simple actually, so if you have that down, most likely it's because you haven't created enough hubpages. You want to aim at making 100 hubs. This can take you a week if you work hard at it or it can take you 3 months. It depends on you.

In the next post of how to make money with Hubpages, I'll be going into researching strategies in order to help you write about pretty much any topic. After that, the basics of creating a hub and finally, how to build links to them. For now, just sign up for hubpages find some keywords and try creating a hub. You can always edit it later. Just get use to the format.

Residual Income Stream - Lesson 4

This is lesson 4 of the How to Build a Residual Income Stream series. In this lesson, I will be going back to the Hubpages strategy that I discussed in lessons 1 and 2. The reason for doing this to make money online is because it's not going to cost you anything. Many times people will not even attempt to earn residual income online because they have been burnt so many times in the past. Before you do this, realize that because you aren't putting any money into this venture, it will take some time to see any good results.

So here is the strategy to make money with Hubpages. I'm assuming that you already signed up for an account. If you need help on making a hub, read this hub: "How to Correctly Setup a Hub" (http://hubpages.com/hub/how-to-correctly-setup-a-hub). The first time you try to build a page on this site, it may take you awhile since the format needs some getting used to. After you make a few pages, it'll be pretty easy.

You will also need to sign up for a Google Adsense account. Once you get the account number, you will add it to your hubpages account. The hub link above will show you how to do that as well. Without an Adsense account, you won't be able to make money. Now, let's get started. Here are the steps.

1. Find the right topic to write about.

Depending on how you will plan to make money with your hubpage, (Adsense, Ebay, or Amazon) you will need a way to find keywords that will be profitable. When it comes down to it, you need to know if there is a demand for a certain topic or product and what type of competition you are up against. If you find a topic that doesn't have any demand, you can show up as the number one site on Google for that topic or keyword and not have any traffic. On the other hand, you may pick a really hot topic only to find that the competition is way to high and therefore, you are no where on the search engines so no one is able to find you.

So what do you do? One great way is to use Google's Keyword Tool(https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal). This tool will give you the approximate demand for whatever keyword you type in. After you type in the keyword and fill out the word security box, it will pull up a bunch of words that has the keyword you typed in. On the right side, you will see a pull down menu that says "Match Type". The default will say "Broad". You want to change that to "Exact". Basically, you are looking for a keyword that has at least 3,000 global monthly search volume.

Next, under the "Choose columns to display" pull down menu, you want to choose "Show Estimated Avg. CPC". This will give you an idea of how much advertisers are paying Google every time someone clicks on an ad they placed in the search engines. You'll be getting about 30-40% of that per click. That is just a rough estimate though. You will want the CPC number to be at least $1.00. The lower the CPC is, the higher your search volume will have to be. I normally go for words that have higher than $1.50 CPC.

At $1.00 in CPC, you will want to have a keyword that has at least 15,000 searches. At $2.00 in CPC, you can have a search volume of 7,500. If you find a keyword that has 5,000 searches, you will need a CPC of about $3.00. At the minimum of 3,000 searches, you will need a CPC of $5.00 for the keyword to be worth chasing.

Once you find some words that meet those criteria, you want to enter the words into Google and see how much "results" there are. This number will be shown near the upper right hand corner in bold. You want to look for words that have under 1 million search results. The lower the search results, the better. Try to find words that have under 500,000 results. Don't worry if you don't find any keywords that meet these criteria right away. It will take some time. It's really a numbers game. The more words you search for, the more profitable keywords you will find.

This isn't set in stone of course. If you find a word that is over $2 but a little less than 3,000 or even 2,000 searches, but have less than 100,000 page results, it could be worth going for just because it may be easy to rank with.

I have a hub with a keyword that has less than 3,000 monthly searches, less than 100k results, with a CPC of over $2 and make around $20 a month for it. That may not seem like much but what if you had 100 or 200 hubpages like that? We're talking retirement income right there.

The secret is to build at least 100 hubs. That way, you will start to see what type of niches work and what doesn't work. If you have anything less than 50 hubs, don't expect to make much money at all. Again, it's a numbers game. The more bait you throw out there, the greater your chance of catching a big fish.

This isn't the only method of doing keyword research. Is it the best? Well, the results will vary depending on the keywords. A lot of things come into play. The best thing to do is to test. Another great way to do your research is using the strategies taught at the Keyword Academy(http://thekeywordacademy.com/coaching/183.html).

2. Build your Hubpage.

This is where you will build your content page. This is be how you will make your residual income stream. Since Hubpages is such a strong site, you will have some advantages in terms of search engine rankings by using them. Of course, if you can afford buying a domain and hosting to have your own website, you should do that as well. But for now, let's just stick with this free method. If you go to a page on that site like this one I wrote about how to retire wealthy, you can see an example of this. As you can see, there are Google Adsense ads on that page. When people click on it, I get paid. Hubpages get revenue 40% of the time but that's okay because we are leveraging their power with Google to get high rankings that we may not have otherwise on our own.

If your keyword is a product, you can add Ebay and Amazon affiliate links on there as well to get paid whenever someone clicks on your links and buys the product.

Here my hubpages profile that I use to link to this site. My Hub Profile.

3. Build links.

In order for people to find your page and also to increase your rankings in the search engine, you need to build links to your hubpage. That's really what this game is all about. Who can get the best and most links using the keyword as the anchor text. If you notice the links that I have in this post, the words I use are the keywords I am aiming to score high with on the search engines.

You can do that by asking website owners who write about the same topic to do link exchanges with you. One way link exchanges (they link to you, you don't link to them) have more strength but it may be harder to get. You can also write articles for certain strong sites such as Ezine Articles to get strong one way links. You can also, and should, create related hubpages and have them all link to each other. The less competition you have and the less strong those competition are, the easier it will be to get on the first page of the search engines for your keyword.

Each page you build will be another residual income stream to add to your collection. Some pages will work better than others. It's really a numbers game. The more you build, the more money you can potentially make. Is it a lot of work? Yes, but you need to realize that everything shared on this site is about building residual income. You do the work once but you get paid for it over and over again. Will all your pages or sites make you money? No. You'll have many sites or hubpages that won't make you a dime. But the more you do this, the better you'll get at knowing what works and what doesn't.

The key here is to put in consistent effort and work. If you can set aside an hour a day and just work on building each residual income stream, over a year's time, you'll be well on your way to having multiple residual income streams.

Make Money With Resell Rights

Acquiring resell rights to products can be an easy and inexpensive way to start an Internet business. Basically you are able to purchase a product once and then sell it over and over. Before venturing into buying products with resell rights there are some things you should know.

Resell rights come in many forms and sizes. They can come in large packages with many products bundled together and offered for an almost suspiciously low price. Or they can be offered on a single product for a four-figure sum. There are also different types of rights offered allowing you to do different things.

Basic resell rights only give you the right to sell the product. You cannot claim the product is your own and you do not have permission to offer the resell rights to anyone else. Basic resell rights are usually the cheapest, so it may be easier to make a profit. Check the terms for how much you can charge for the product or if it can be given away, perhaps as a bonus with something else. There may also be conditions for distributing the product from membership and auction sites. If you are buying rights to software make sure you know the product well enough to deal with any
troubleshooting enquiries. Some software rights sellers are prepared to deal with enquiries themselves. The product may also come with a web sales page that you can use, but check for any
restrictions.

Master resell rights often include a web page with the product. They give you the right to sell the product and you can also pass on this right to your customers. However that is as far as it goes. Your customers cannot give the resell rights for the product to their customers. The best master resell rights packages will include a zip file containing everything you need to put on your download page.

There are two types of resell rights that may be referred to as private label rights. One type is where you are given the resell rights for a finished product and you are also allowed to put
your name on the product as the author. This type of product is a ready-to-sell information or software product. You cannot change it other than put your name on it.

The second type of private label rights is also known as source code rights. The product is not a finished ready-to-sell item. Instead it will be the raw source material that you can use to produce a finished item. Programs will be in the source
code format; information products will be in a word processor format, like MS Word.

You can change the product in any way you want. You can add your name as author, add more content, omit parts or split it into several products. You may also be able to sell resell rights and even master resell rights. Terms and conditions should be
posted, so check them carefully. Most private label rights packages also come with a web page and graphics that you can use for selling.

If you have found a resell rights product that you think you can sell you need to do some basic market research before purchasing. How many people are searching for this type of product? How many competing products are there? Have you seen the product available elsewhere?

If you are going to sell on the internet you need to have access to the following skills. You must be able to edit web pages, create payment links and upload the product and web pages to a server. If
you are buying private label rights you must also be able to edit the product. This is especially important if you are buying rights for software.

There are many ways you can sell products on the internet. You can usually set up your own website or add the sales page to your existing site. You could invest in pay per click ads or ezine ads. You could write articles. If you have private label rights to a book you can use some of the content to produce articles or even a free report for viral marketing.

Resell rights offer the advantage of not having to produce your own material. However, you need to be sure the product is good quality and that you have a good marketing plan.

Residual Income Stream - Lesson 3

This is lesson 3 of how to build a residual income stream. In this post, I'm going to side track a bit to talk about the 3 things that will help determine whether or not you will generate residual income. Unlike what most people think, you can't just throw up a site and talk about anything you want, then put Adsense on the site and expect to make money. If it were that easy, the fact that 99% of people who try to build residual income online don't make more than a few bucks a month wouldn't be the reality. So here are the 3 things that will help put you in the 1%.

1. Choose the right keywords.

2. Optimize your site with search engine optimization strategies.

3. Get other sites to link to your site using your keywords at the anchor text.

And there you have it. If you do these 3 things correctly, you will be ahead of most people in this internet game. All 3 of these steps are quite simple actually. The thing is that it will take some time, especially the last one. Learning these things really went against what I thought should make a website profitable. My thinking before was a lot like what the majority of people think now.

I used to think if I just made a really cool website, people will come. The reality is that there are thousands of sites out there that are full of great useful content, but have almost no visitors. Just because you build it, it doesn't mean traffic will automatically come.

I used to think I can write about anything and make money as long as you get enough traffic to your site. I now know that the amount of traffic doesn't determine how much money you will make. What will determine that is what kind of traffic you get. Not all traffic is equal.

I used to think if I get a lot of "fans" that kept coming back to my site, I can make a lot of money. Although there are ways to do so, most of those people are just there to be entertained and will never buy anything or click on any ads.

I used to think the best quality sites get put up on the first page of search engines for their keyword. I now know that it's not about quality, it's about links.

I used to think that just getting any links to my site is good enough because they're all the same so it was about quantity. I now know that it's not about quantity, it's about the quality of the links.

I used to think that making a website look good was really important to my success. I now know that it has very little to do with it and I spent way too much time in the past trying to make it look professional.

When it comes to creating a residual income stream online with a website, there were a lot of things I didn't know about. Once I learned the truth about what it really takes and understood how the game is played, I understood why most people fail at making residual income on the internet. Most of the stuff out there that is taught to people are wrong. I guess if enough people say it, it because right, even though it's still wrong (does that make sense?). On top of that, most people don't even look into this sort of thing. They just build and hope.

It's all just a game folks. The ones who know the rules, know how to win the game. The ones that don't, lose. If you want to be above the crowd and dramatically increase your chances of successfully building residual income online, you must learn how to play the game. I must warn you though, once you understand how the game works, you might now like it. I didn't at first. I thought it was unfair. But I guess now that I know, I have an unfair advantage, and soon, you will too.
